Overview

Interbeton is offering an exceptional opportunity for a Quality Engineer based in our Head Office in Athens. This role will focus on ensuring that ready-mix concrete production meets stringent quality and reliability standards, supporting both operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize ready-mix concrete mix designs to meet evolving project needs.
  • Oversee all aspects of quality control and the technical performance of concrete products.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive Quality Control (QC) Plan for regional production facilities and projects.
  • Support the creation, execution, and documentation of product control plans, ensuring performance data, procedures, and project-specific quality controls are up to standard.
  • Adjust production processes as necessary to maintain product consistency and quality.
  • Provide expert troubleshooting and technical guidance to both internal teams and external customers.
  • Serve as a technical resource for material and product performance across all regional plants and projects.
  • Recommend and support plant modifications to maintain conformance, consistency, and operational efficiency.
  • Be present on-site during project startups to ensure contract compliance and collaborate effectively with project teams and owner representatives.
  • Investigate quality issues, conduct root cause analyses, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop and refine processes, procedures, and policies to enhance production and product quality.
  • Perform field and laboratory testing as needed to support quality control.
  • Manage laboratory and quality control program budgets, scheduling, and forecasting.
  • Mentor and guide team members in achieving top-tier quality standards, equipping them with tools to monitor and enhance quality performance.
  • Foster a culture focused on quality, sustainability and customer service throughout the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety standards on projects and within facilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align production practices with ESG goals, enhancing product sustainability and environmental performance.
  • Recommend, prepare, and develop concrete mix designs that align with sustainability objectives (e.g., BREEAM, LEED standards).
  • Provide support for the development and maintenance of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), ensuring transparency and alignment with sustainability goals.
  • Travel to production plants and construction sites as required, up to 25% of the time.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • 4+ years of relevant Quality Assurance or Civil Engineering Construction experience
  • Experience in concrete works, maintenance, and finishes
  • Knowledge of industrial concrete manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of concrete testing and quality control procedures
  • Ability to comprehend and develop contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedules
  • SAP Experience will be considered as an asset
  • Knowledge of Project Management and CAD packages will be considered a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
  • Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
  • Solid research and analytical skills with great attention to detail and focus on accuracy
  • Military Service fulfilled (if applicable)
