Overview

TITAN Greece has an excellent opportunity for a Quarry Engineer, reporting to the Aggregates Operations Manager for our quarry at Leros. The primary scope of this role is to supervise all quarry activities, meeting objectives for quantity and quality, within safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all aspects of quarry operation including supervision, safety, quality control, environmental management, maintenance schedules, and sales-production balance
• Ensure quarry operations comply with all relevant safety, health and environment legislation and reporting requirements
• Closely monitor all areas of the quarry to ensure that extraction and processing work is carried out to the highest standard
• Ensure continuing efforts towards optimization and improvement of mine production, maintenance, and safety practices
• Bring a strong safety mindset and manage high risk activities and reduce risk exposure for self and others by informing and guiding the quarry team as well as by ensuring implementation of health & safety measures
• Provide hands-on leadership and management of all employees including subcontractors, in the effort of meeting the production goals and to strive for continuous improvement
• Monitor and control costs, create and analyze monthly reports and key performance indicators regarding the excavation, crushing, and loading and hauling activities, and contribute to annual budgets
• Keep abreast of key government health, safety/environmental regulations, and ensure they are implemented
• Provides training, and development of his/her team, to facilitate professional growth and maintain high levels of motivation and job satisfaction and a favorable organizational climate

Qualifications

• Degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline
• Minimum of 3+ years of proven successful quarry manager experience in aggregates plant or comparably industry-related environment
• Strong leadership skills: possess the ability to lead, manage and motivate; have a proven track record for creating employee ownership of safety, production, and quality
• Flexible, proactive approach to establish high standards of work performance
• Able to prioritize work, multi-task and meet deadlines
• Proactive, resourceful, solutions oriented and results-oriented
• Communication with internal and external parties in a collaborative, positive manner
• Team player and solid interpersonal skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills both in Greek & English language
• Military Service fulfilled (if applicable)
